Raven’s Aladdin List

Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you.  For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh is shall be opened.  -Matthew 7:7-8

First an explanation...About 1996 or so I picked up the book "The Aladdin Factor" by Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen.  I have to say the book has made a terrific impact on my life.  The basic premise is ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE....IF you dare ask for it.  As part of it you make an "Aladdin List"  101 things you want if anything is possible, money no object, etc.  Then you work to manifest them in your life.  Basically setting and obtaining goals.  It is so awesome to be able to cross things off your list.  I, if I search hard enough, could probably find my list for each year since I have had this book.  It feels so incredible to be able to know that i have achieved something on my list.

As some of you know in the past I have literally walked up knocked on a door and been given a motorcycle!  I believe anything is possible if you want it and work for it hard enough and are not afraid to ask for it.

So I publish this list here for several reasons: First as a type of accountability.  I have made my desires known now my friends can say "Hey Rae, how goes the list?" and keep me on track, Second to hopefully inspire others to live without boundaries,Third in a way it is asking.  You may be able to look at this list and go, "Wow!  I can help her achieve her dream by doing X."  Maybe you actually have an old Montblanc or Waterman pen laying in a drawer.  Maybe you know a dentist, etc etc.  But I do hope my list will inspire you to create your own!

btw you will notice some of the list is hyperlinked to pages with more information.  I also want to not that #25 is in honor of Chris Swanson.  She is my ex-girlfriends mother who has battled cancer for some time and such an inspiration to me.  She also opened her heart and home to me and treated me like family and I will always love and respect her for that.

    -DIFFERENT DRUMMERS

If I do not want what you want, please try not to tell me that my want
    is wrong.

Or if I believe other than you, at least pause before you correct my view.

Or if my emotion is less than yours, or more, given the same
circumstances, try not to ask me to feel more strongly or weakly.

Or yet if I act, or fail to act, in the manner of your design for
    action, let me be.

I do not, for the moment at least, ask you to understand me. That will
come only when you are willing to give up changing me into a copy of
    you.

I may be your spouse, your parent, your offspring, your friend, or
your colleague. If you will allow me any of my own wants, or emotions,
or beliefs, or actions, then you open yourself, so that some day these
ways of mine might not seem so wrong, and might finally appear to you
as right -- for me. To put up with me is the first step to
understanding me. Not that you embrace my ways as right for you, but
that you are no longer irritated or disappointed with me for my
seeming waywardness. And in understanding me you might come to prize
my differences from you, and, far from seeking to change me, preserve
    and even nurture those differences.
